Le Jardin des Amis is a small-scale holiday domain with authentic old stone cottages and a heated pool (May - September) in the charming village of Meyrals, right in the heart of the Périgord Noir in the Dordogne.

A perfect place to stay centrally located in the Dordogne, close to attractions, ancient villages and activities, yet also enjoy space, outdoor living and a relaxed atmosphere.

Run with love by a Dutch family

We – a Dutch family – have been proud owners of this idyllic spot for some time now. Inspired by what we ourselves always looked for on holiday: freedom for the children, space to play and meet each other, and time to unwind.

We hope that others will enjoy it just as much as we do.

Small-scale holiday domain with authentic old stone gîtes

On our almost 4-hectare large terrain – surrounded by meadows, fruit trees and forest – there are seven authentic old stone cottages for 2 to 8 people, grouped together like a small village street. Once this terrain was a tobacco plantation; today it is a green holiday domain where guests enjoy space, nature and a relaxed atmosphere.

The cottages combine the charm of yesteryear with modern comfort and are suitable for:

 • Multiple generations together

It is possible to book multiple gîtes at the same time. This is highly appreciated by our guests; holidaying together and yet having your own private space. Ideal for families or friends who want to be together, but also follow their own rhythm.

Holiday close to everything, with plenty of space to unwind

You stay here centrally located in relation to villages, markets, castles, caves and activities, without being right in the middle of it all.

During the day exploring the Périgord Noir, a dip in the heated pool (May - September) in the afternoon, and unwinding on your own terrace with BBQ in the evening. You combine effortlessly the best of two worlds: liveliness within reach and a nice spot to unwind.

Outdoor living, heated pool and space for children

The life here takes place mainly outdoors: by the heated pool with views of fruit trees and greenery, in a hammock in the orchard or quietly on your own terrace.

For children there is plenty of space to play outside and go on discovery. The domain is child-friendly set up with a trampoline, swings, a football pitch and plenty of open play area. No animation programme, but freedom, nature and an ideal environment for small and large adventures.

If you travel alone with your child(ren)? Then it's extra nice if there are other children to play with. We often see that they find each other here on their own, so you can also unwind.

And when it gets dark in the evening? Then you admire a starry sky as clear as you rarely see.

Discover the Dordogne and Périgord Noir

The Périgord Noir is known for its castles, caves, medieval towns, local markets and delicious cuisine. From Meyrals you are close to:

 • Sarlat-la-Canéda

 • Les Eyzies-de-Tayac-Sireuil

 • The valleys of the Vézère and Dordogne rivers

 • The world-famous Grottes de Lascaux (about 25 minutes by car)

Next to cultural excursions you will find in the area also pebble beaches along the river, where you can swim, paddle, picnic or relax at the water's edge. Perfect to combine with a canoe trip or a quiet afternoon by the river.

Whether you prefer the liveliness of the high season or the gentleness of the low season – each period has its own charm here.
