Our surroundings
We are located in the heart of the Périgord Noir, in the famous "Golden Triangle", just 6 kilometers from two beautiful rivers: the Dordogne and the Vézère. Here you can enjoy plenty of canoeing or – for those who prefer a more relaxed pace – take a trip on a gabare , a traditional flat-bottomed boat.
Our estate is situated on the edge of the village of Meyrals : you enjoy peace and quiet amidst meadows and woods, while the village center is just a 5-minute walk away . Here you will find two restaurants: La Merenda , known for its regional dishes and excellent pizzas, and Une Affaire de Goûts , a bistronomic restaurant that uses fresh local produce. Additionally, there is a bakery and patisserie where you can purchase fresh bread, pastries, and other treats.
On Thursdays during the high season, there is a small regional market featuring local products. In addition, lively village festivals are regularly organized in the summer. An absolute highlight is the Epoufest , the famous scarecrow festival (late July): three days full of music, a flea market, delicious food, and numerous activities for young and old.
There is also plenty of choice for sports and nature lovers. You can enjoy excellent fishing in the rivers or the surrounding lakes. Hikers will find an extensive network of marked hiking trails here, some of which even run past our estate. The centuries-old pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela also traverse this region. Hiking, cycling, and mountain biking are particularly popular here, and many routes are also suitable for exploring on horseback. There are several riding stables in the area where you can rent a horse or go on guided trail rides.
In addition, the region offers numerous activities for young and old: adventure parks, truffle hunting, rock climbing, climbing parks, outdoor swimming pools with slides, exploring impressive caves, and panoramic flights in a glider or hot air balloon. Furthermore, for golf enthusiasts, several excellent golf courses are located a short distance from our estate.
